Reception have been exploring The Very Hungry Caterpillar, focusing on how bright colours are used in the illustrations. Inspired by this, the children created their own minibeasts in the style of Eric Carle.
Using a range of materials including paint, paper, plates, and glue, the children worked carefully to bring their ideas to life. They have been developing their scissor skills, taking great care to cut accurately.
First, the children painted their plates and, once dry, added faces, legs, and patterns such as spots or stripes depending on their chosen minibeast. They then designed a background and added their finished creation.
We have TWO Artists of the Month this timeit was just too difficult to choose! Well done to everyone for your fantastic effort.

As part of our Design & Technology learning, pupils created their own delicious fruit kebabs They began by exploring where different fruits come from around the world and the types of plants they grow on, including trees, bushes and vines. Pupils also learnt about the Eatwell Guide and the importance of a balanced diet, understanding the nutrients that fruit provides. Using good hygiene and the bridge cutting method, everyone prepared their fruit safely and confidently. The children demonstrated excellent responsibility and developing food preparation skills. This learning linked beautifully with our R.E. work on the Fruit of the Spirit. Pupils explored the seeds inside fruit and reflected on how, just as seeds grow into something good, the Holy Spirit grows within us. They also discussed how our kind words and actions are like the fruit we show to others

We began the summer term with enthusiasm, stepping up to the crease for our first sporting event of the year: the Year 5 and 6 cricket tournament. The children showed great skill and determination in all aspects of the game, from confident bowling and resilient batting to sharp fielding in the outfield. Despite having had limited time to practise, they truly rose to the occasion and worked brilliantly together as a team. Well done everyone!
Today we celebrated our patron saint St George starting with Mass at church followed by lots of craft activities like making dragon puppets, red paper roses and crowns. Happy St George's Day!
This week, we have a bumper crop of Sports Award winners! Every class had additional sessions of P.E. in preparation for the many sports events that are coming up for all year groups this year. Here's to a great athletics season! #summersports
Last week St Bernadette and St Joseph classes led us in reflecting on Jesus' road to the cross. Today is Good Friday when Christians around the world commemorate this journey before Jesus' death on the cross.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our parents, families and children for making our Easter Bonnet Day such a joyful and memorable occasion. The creativity on display was truly amazing, with a wonderful array of colourful, imaginative bonnets that really captured the spirit of Easter. The children proudly paraded their creations for other classes, and it was lovely to see the excitement and smiles as everyone admired each other's designs. From bright spring flowers to cheerful chicks and bunnies, the bonnets were a perfect celebration of new life and the joy that Easter brings.
